Attorney Henry T. Asher
(1892 - 1963) was born in Woodburn, Kentucky
in 1982. Upon graduating from high school
in 1910 he went on to receive his Bachelor
of Arts degree from Indiana University
in 1914. In 1915 he taught at the Lincoln
Institute at Jefferson City, Missouri.
Doing graduate work at the University
of Minnesota in 1917 he later received
his Law Degree in 1928 from Detroit College
of Law. He died March 5th, 1963. |

Dr. Guy Levis Grant (1891 - 1973)
a Dentist by trade was born in New Albany,
Indiana. He was the 3rd child out of
13 children, 5 whom became member of
Kappa Alpha Psi. After the death of
father Guy took over the responsibilities
of the household and younger brothers
and sisters. After graduating from Scribrer
High School in 1909 he went on to major
in Chemistry and then graduated from
the University of Indiana in 1915. He
received his D.D.S. degree in 1920 also
from University of Indiana.
Dr. Guy Levis Grant played a major
role in our HISTORY. He was always a
constant source of inspiration in the
preparation of the STORY. He collected
and guarded the precious source material
which eventually became the factual
supportive bases of the STORY. He was
named Grand Historian Emeritus. |

Paul Wayne Caine (1891
- 1922) born in Charleston, Indiana
in 1891. He attended grade school and
high school in Greencastle, Indiana.
He enrolled at Indiana University in
1909 but because but a disastrous fire
in the Fraternity House where he was
employed he never finished his sophomore
year. After leaving Indiana University
he went into the catering business in
his hometown. Later while attending
Columbia University he setup a catering
business in Gary, Indiana. He went on
to publish a book on catering which
was copyrighted in 1919 by the Hurst
Publishing Company.
Brother Caine was a driving
force in starting the Gamma, Delta and
Zeta chapters. Before his untimely death
in 1922 due to an explosion of gaseous
materials in his business he went into
business in Peoria, Illinois.

Edward Giles Irvin (1893 -1982) born
August 13, 1893 in Spencer, Indiana. He
graduated from Kokoma Indiana High School
in 1910 and then later that same year
entered Indiana University. Upon leaving
Indiana University he went on to pursue
a career in journalism. After a doing
service in World War I he served on the
staff of the Indianapolis Freedom. March
1922 he established The Shining Star a
weekly newspaper in Anderson, Indiana.
It started as a leaflet of eight pages
and within five years no additional capital
it grew to a six column newspaper. With
the success of The Shining Star Irvin's
services were sought from the Gary Sun
as it's editor. He accepted but later
had to resign to pursue a career as a
sports editor for the Chicago Daily Bulletin.
In 1976 he became the 24th BROTHER awarded
of the Laurel Wreath. |
